Wolfe City car show Saturday

GREENVILLE — Wolfe City plans to cruise into autumn Saturday, as it hosts one of the largest car shows in northeast Texas.

The 10th Annual Wolfe City Autumn Cruise Car Show is sponsored by Alliance Bank and moves this year to the streets of downtown Wolfe City.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., with a $25 entry fee and with judging at 11 a.m. Saturday, according to Tony Aguilar, who is helping to organize the event.

“The car show will have 32 classes giving first and second place in each class,” Aguilar said. “The show also features 11 special awards for best of show classes for a total of 75 awards.”

The first 100 entries will receive a free T-shirt and dash plaque. Awards will be presented at around 3 p.m. Saturday.

“The Wolfe City Chamber of Commerce is very pleased to be able to host the event in downtown Wolfe City,” Aguilar said. “Alliance Bank is the title sponsor and without the Alliance Banks support the car show would not be possible. The Chamber feels this year’s event and location will be a great venue for the cars and the local merchants. The First United Methodist Church has 12 vendors coming on Saturday selling anything from homemade baked good to custom jewelry.”

Breakfast will be available Saturday morning from the Masonic Lodge, with lunch available from the Booster Club.

Other sponsors for the event include Ennis Tag, Kidtopia Digital, R.W. Owens and Son Funeral Home and Brummett Concrete Construction.

Those needing information about the show can call Aguilar at 903-496-2331 or tonyatowensfuneralhome@yahoo.com.
