GREENVILLE —
The Greenville Chamber of Commerce Convention and Visitors Bureau is hoping to scare up a good time during the weekends.
For spirits of an entirely different variety, tours are also being conducted at one of Greenville’s two downtown wineries.
Greenville Ghost Walks are scheduled most Friday and Saturday evenings, weather permitting, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Hunt County Heritage Garden, 2217 Washington Street downtown.
The walks feature stories behind an allegedly haunted winery, a Victorian triple-drowning, Civil War conflicts, an early red light district and more.
The tours are conducted by a guide in Victorian costume, Fridays and Saturdays and cost $12 per person.
Visitors interested in wine making can learn details about the process, as well as taste samples, at the Landon Winery, 2508 Lee Street.
The tours are conducted starting at 2 p.m. each Saturday at what is now Texas’ 10th largest production winery, housed in a former 1930s Kress Department Store.
