Airport event about to take off
GREENVILLE — Fans of all sorts of aircraft should find lots to enjoy this weekend at the Greenville Municipal Airport/Majors Field.
The Aviation Expo and Fly-In is scheduled from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday and is being presented by the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 914.
The free event is expected to include displays of light sport aircraft manufacturers and dealers, warbirds, antiques and classics and homebuilt aircraft.
The City of Greenville has provided the chapter with $2,500 toward the cost of the show, with organization having hosted several pancake breakfasts and other activities as fundraisers to make up the difference.
