Teen killed in four-wheeler accident
GREENVILLE — Services are scheduled Friday for a Greenville teenager, killed Tuesday evening in an accident involving a four-wheeler.
Stephanie Danielle Etter, 15, was killed at around 6 p.m. Tuesday when the all-terrain vehicle rolled over along a Hunt County road between Greenville and Campbell, according to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Etter was a freshman at Greenville High School, according to Greenville Independent School District spokesperson Brad Press, who said students were shocked at the news.
“We had some extra counselors serving at the high school this morning,” Press said. “It is just tragic.”
Services for Etter are scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Friday, with visitation from noon until 2 p.m., at the chapel of Lynch Funeral Home Service.
Etter was reported to have been riding the 2005 Polaris Sportsman 800 westbound on Hunt County Road 3103 when the four-wheeler hit a rough patch of the road paved with gravel, according to the Department of Public Safety.
Etter was said to have hit the brakes, causing the vehicle to go into a sideways skid and roll over multiple times, coming to rest on top of her. Etter was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
