Rotary project keeps flags flying
GREENVILLE — Five times a year the streets around Greenville are decorated with a display of American flags, thanks to Daybreak Rotary’s Flag Project, said Tubby Adkisson, co-chair of the program.
On five holidays of the year — Memorial Day, Flag Day (June 14), the Fourth of July, Labor Day and Veterans Day — local homeowners and businesses can display on their property the flags which are set up by Daybreak Rotary members and then collected after the holiday.
The subscription cost is $30 per year for residential properties and $50 per year for businesses.
The project is the primary fund-raiser for Daybreak Rotary Club which supports such local and international charities as DrugFree Greenville, Boy Scouts, CASA, Hunt County Advocacy Center, Boys & Girls Club of Hunt County, Women in Need, Hunt County Shared Ministries (FISH), Rotary Wheelchair Project and the African Water Project.
For more information or to subscribe to the flag project, call 903-455-3563, 903-455-4335, or visit the Web site at www.greenvilledaybreakrotary.com.
