A second candidate has filed seeking a spot on the Greenville City Council.
Tyson Cox filed Thursday for the Place 1 seat on the Council, currently held by Dan Perkins.
Perkins filed for reelection Wednesday, the first day of filing for the May 11 election.
Places 1 and 2 on the Council will be decided. Dr. Joe Perks serves in Place 2 and is also eligible to run again but has not formally announced whether he intends to seek re-election.
Candidate packets are available in the City Secretary’s Office at 2821 Washington Street.
March 1 is the last day to file for a spot on the ballot.
April 11 is the last day to register to vote for the election, with early voting scheduled April 29-May 7.
