GREENVILLE —
Authorities were searching Tuesday for two suspects who were reported to have robbed a Greenville-area convenience store at gunpoint early in the morning.
Hunt County Undersheriff Joe Knight said the sheriff’s office was contacted at around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday about the reported hold-up at the Valero Store, at 5777 U.S. Highway 380 west of Greenville.
The clerk on duty at the store said two males; one said to be white, 5 feet eight inches tall carrying a shotgun, and the other black, 6 feet tall carrying a handgun, and both with their faces and/or heads covered, entered the store and demanded money.
No shots were fired and no one was hurt during the robbery, with the suspects allegedly making off with $500 in cash and a pack of cigarettes before fleeing on foot to the field next door to the business.
Knight said the incident remains under investigation.
Anyone with information concerning the robbery can contact the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office at 903-453-6800 or Hunt County Crime Stoppers at 903-457-2929.
