At its December board meeting, the Rockwall Economic Development Corporation (Rockwall EDC) appointed local businessman and active community volunteer Stewart Storms to its board. Storms’ designation on the Rockwall EDC board began this month and will continue until December 2015.
Storms is currently vice president of commercial lending for American National Bank of Texas in Rockwall, where he has been employed since 2010.
“I am thrilled with this appointment because I know Stewart is going to offer a great perspective about growing current business in Rockwall, as well as attracting new prospects to our city,” Rockwall EDC President and CEO Sheri Franza said. “With his dedicated focus on increasing commerce, I know Stewart will represent Rockwall’s business community with excellence.”
In addition to his 13-year banking career, Storms sits on the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce board and is active in the Rockwall ISD Mentor Program, Rockwall Kiwanis Club, Rockwall Chapter of the Texas Tech Alumni Association and Elizabeth Toon Foundation Planning Committee.
“I’m committed to Rockwall and I am excited to serve on the REDC Board,” Storms said. “Serving Rockwall in this capacity is an honor and I look forward to helping with the continued expansion of where we live and what we do.”
Storms holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and a Master of Business Administration in management and leadership skills, both from Texas Tech University. He also attended the Texas Tech School of Community Bank Management.
