By the time you read this, spring will have officially started.
However, it is expected to be unseasonably cool for the upcoming weekend, with a chance for some much needed rain until then.
The spring, or vernal, equinox was at 6:02 a.m. today, with the day and the night both 12 hours long, according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac. The first day of summer will be June 20.
There is at least a slight chance of thunderstorms in the forecast through Saturday night, with the highs both Saturday and Sunday in the 50s, and with the lows dipping into the 30s each night.
Today’s forecast from the National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies and a high near 67 degrees, with winds out of the north gusting at up to 20 miles per hour.
