GREENVILLE — Two weeks ago, a teenage girl from Greenville disappeared.

The investigation into the murder of Alicia Chanta Moore continues, with multiple agencies involved in the case, but with no arrests having been reported as of Thursday evening.

Funeral services for Moore, 16, are scheduled Saturday, with visitation today.

A reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction for the person or persons responsible for Moore’s death continues to grow and soon billboards will be going up along highways in Hunt and Collin counties, asking for the public’s help in finding Moore’s killer.

Moore was last seen on the afternoon of November 2 getting off of a school bus at the intersection of Bourland and Walnut Streets in Greenville, about a half-block from her home. Her body was found November 6 along FM 47 in Van Zandt County.

 The Greenville Police Department is reported to be working alongside the Hunt County District Attorney, Van Zandt County District Attorney, Texas Rangers and the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office in conducting the investigation.

Greenville Police Chief Dan Busken said Thursday that it is still an ongoing investigation and that anyone who may have any information concerning the case is being asked to contact the police department at 903-457-2900 or, to remain anonymous, Hunt County Crime Stoppers at 903-457-2929.

Funeral services for Moore are currently scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Greenville. Grace & Mercy-Grundy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Grundy Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

An anonymous donor has paid for all of the funeral expenses.

Jessica Byrd, Moore’s aunt, said Thursday the family has not heard of any new developments in the case.

“We know nothing,” Byrd said, not wanting to comment on the multiple rumors which have been circulating about the case. “We’re just trying to hold on without going off on people. We’re giving them a chance to do their job.”

Byrd said the outpouring of support from the public in the wake of Moore’s death has been overwhelming.

“We just want to thank the community for their support,” Byrd said.

— Mark Cobb with Kids R Kids Learning Academy in McKinney, where Byrd is employed, said the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whomever killed Moore has increased in recent days.

“The reward is up to $20,000,” Cobb said.

Cobb has offered $5,000,  Greenville Chrysler Jeep Dodge is also offering $10,000 and Kids R Kids International has put up another $5,000.

A fund benefiting the Moore family has risen to $3,500, including $1,000 contributions from Cobb and the dealership.

Cobb is also wanting to spread the word about the reward fund, through billboards.

“I’ve got two billboards today,” Cobb said.

One of the billboards will be placed along westbound Interstate 30, near the intersection of FM 1570, while the other will be placed along eastbound U.S. Highway 380 near McKinney.

Cobb said the billboards will likely be placed around November 26.

Byrd has indicated that donations to either the memorial fund or reward fund can also be made at American National Bank.
