GREENVILLE —
In March came an announcement that Crossroads Mall was about to get a whole new look.
Under an agreement with the City of Greenville, the owners of the shopping center, which opened in 1983, have until September to begin the redevelopment effort.
But last month, the architect who may have drafted the plans for the project filed suit, claiming he was never paid for his work.
Hermes Architects Incorporated, based in Houston, filed the suit with the 196th District Court on May 21, seeking more than $270,000 the company claims it is owed or, in the alternative, possession of the mall itself.
Officials with Crossroads Greenville Properties, Ltd. have not returned calls from the Herald-Banner seeking comment regarding the situation.
