GREENVILLE —
To the editor:
Praying for our nation…
I would like to share the vision God has placed in my heart … one I would usually pray about, then set aside. But as we have been praying for our nation, God has spoken clearly to my heart to be bold!! I tried to push it aside, due to fear of stepping outside of my comfort zone, but He wouldn’t let me!! He said clearly, I have given you a vision, now carry it through!!! A vision only meant to Honor and Glorify God!! The Lord has lead me to gather His children to pray!!! Not just my church family, but the Body of Christ!! Not a time to debate, not a time to talk politics, but a set aside and appointed time to pray!!!! To join together in agreement, and birth a powerful prayer to guide the direction our nation is going. To come together as the Body of Christ, to give God back, what men/satan is trying to steal.
As a body of Christ and children of God we are called to lead through faith in our Father in Heaven, and unity in prayer. In the Bible many individuals have set a good example of leadership…. They have guided people to identify the problems/issues in the lives of themselves and the lives within a community. To intercede for those in important roles, and for the nation in which they lived. And as we have been called together to intervene, put into action our prayers and even our convictions.
Good leaders remember where they came from and who their source is … a memory that separates spiritual leaders from natural leaders. A strong leader maintains a vision of the big picture and sticks with the right priorities. It is time for us to be leaders in our nation … to display the urgency to put our nation back in the hands of God, and be a representative of God’s values and vision!! To be stewards of our All Mighty Father!! We believe in your Father … a vision of hope, healing, and positive change. James 15:13-15 says, Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise Him up. It is time we rise up as prayer warriors, and Give this nation back to our Almighty King!! To stand for what this nation was originally founded on … One nation under God!!!
Your partner in prayer,
Amy McDaniel

Vote for new Y
I write to support the YMCA bond election from a perspective of the role they provide in the health of our community. As a health care professional, I have long understood and supported the need and development of a comprehensive Health and Wellness Center which could serve not only as a fitness center and playground, but as a cornerstone for building and maintaining healthy bodies and lifestyles.

In support of new Y
A number of Greenville citizens have asked if we can afford a new YMCA. After many years of being a part of the Y, I think the question is, can we afford not to build a new YMCA?
