To the editor:
I was as offended by your January 29 editorial as I was the original article about the horse/sex of January 25. It made no sense for you to say “we think the Herald-Banner ‘underplayed’ this story based on the strong opinions and countless conversations it’s spawned since it was published.”
The real offense, however, was your statement that “this newspaper is not a public relations tool. “We’re not out to paint the Greenville area in a positive light, nor is our goal to use our news pages to attract new industries.”
Well, Mr. Editor, you don’t have to worry about that. If attracting new business to Greenville is dependent upon on the opinions of our local newspaper, Greenville is in serious trouble. If your job is to “reflect Hunt County as it really is, not how we wish it to be,” you’ve done a great disservice to this community.
