To the editor:
I am a volunteer advocate in the fight against cancer, and every day I see how federal health policy decisions affect Texans. More than 36,000 people in Texas will die from cancer this year! Fortunately, the people we elect to Congress can help us by supporting stronger research and prevention-screening programs.
We need to hear what our federal candidates have to say about cancer issues. Join my effort by visiting CancerVotes.org to learn about the impact elected officials can have on the battle against cancer.
Cancer touches all of us — one out of two men and one out of every three women will get a cancer diagnosis at some point in their lives.
Candidates need to rise above partisan politics and talk about how they plan to save lives and make cancer a priority.
