GREENVILLE —
A group of volunteers — many of them Greenville High School students — didn’t let a little rainfall keep them from accomplishing their mission of making a difference in Greenville on Saturday.
They scraped, painted and cleaned up at the Hands of Compassion building during Make-A-Difference Day in Greenville. Their contributions were part of a major effort to renovate the downtown building at 2615 Pickett Street, which serves as a distribution point for food, clothing and other necessities to local and area residents in need.
Twins Brenda and Julia Hernandez, Greenville High School seniors, participated in the event as representatives of the school’s Peer Assistance and Leadership (PALs) group.
