There are the old tales of how storks deliver newborn babies by dropping them down chimneys.
David and Dionna Sanders of Rockwall, however, brought home two girls via the air conditioner repair man.
The Sanders formally adopted Nehria, 13, and Jeri, 12, Friday during the local observance of National Adoption Day at the Hunt County Courthouse.
A total of 14 families had adoptions approved during the ceremony. In each case, the prospective parents were asked a few, brief questions before 196th District Court Judge Steve Tittle proclaimed, “The court gladly grants the adoption.” After each drop of the gavel, the courtroom broke out into applause.
