GREENVILLE —
Ten teams of participants raced through downtown Greenville Saturday morning, making stops along the way to eat a sleeve of saltine crackers and whistle, pitch a tent, dig through trays of liver and pork skins to find 89 cents and stomp grapes, then later eat a snowcone made from the juice.
The bizarre events were all part of the Amazing Grace Race sponsored by Wesley United Methodist Church of Greenville to raise funds for Women in Need of Hunt County.
“It was the most fun fund-raiser I’ve ever seen,” Women in Need Executive Director Roger Roberston said after the race.
