Trial scheduled Monday in bust of alleged Campbell meth lab

A husband and wife from Campbell are facing trial this week in connection with what authorities said was a methamphetamine production lab.

William Ronald Davidson and Stacy Sutton Davidson were among three people arrested in February 2009 at a home along County Road 4215 in Campbell as the result of a joint investigation between the sheriff’s offices in both Hunt and Hopkins counties alongside the Sulphur Springs Police Department.

William Davidson was indicted in July of last year on one count each of possession of between one and four grams of a controlled substance, possession transport of chemicals with the intent to manufacture a controlled substance and possession and/or transport of Anhydrous Ammonia.

Stacy Davidson received one indictment for possession of between one and four grams of a controlled substance.

Both waived formal arraignment hearings on Sept. 14 and 354th District Court Judge Richard A. Beacom scheduled jury selection for Monday in both cases.

Officers from each of the agencies participated in the Feb. 23 raid on the home.

At the time of the raid, the lab itself was reported not to be complete, but evidence allegedly indicated a lab had previously been operating at the location, which is in a residential area not far from the Campbell Independent School District campus.
